Welcome to my omm...
for this is exactly what my business provides me! While my past careers also helped shape me, this career has been nothing less than life-transforming. I feel fortunate that having experienced "corporate America" (in sales, marketing, management, and health care for a combined 14 years ), I'm able to better understand the needs of my clients. But on the flip side, this career in massage therapy over the past 9 years forced me to search for new & better ways to take care of myself...to keep my omm. Little did I know my initial intuitive nudge to dive into massage school would lead to learning about, and practicing, energy/energy work, law of attraction, power of intentions & positive thought, Feng Shui, color therapy, numerology, many forms of spirituality, etc...and then to follow that with additional certifications in Reiki & Wellness Coaching. Now add to that hearing so many of my clients saying how they didn't feel they could eek out the time to take care of themselves, and/or didn't even know whereto start! So all of these experiences combined left me thinking, what more can I do? How can I further my idea of helping people with massage therapy, AND share everything else I had learned for myself?
Well I wish I could take the credit, but it was actually a small group of clients calling themselves the Massage Musketeers that helped me hatch the idea of in-home wellness. When I made the career switch to massage I initially joined on with a local day spa, and would work on a few friends or family members at their homes on the side. But when this group had me over, I was blessed enough to not only work with each of them, but to witness them laughing, crying, joking, venting...and all of this surrounded by good food, drink, music, and the atmosphere only home can create. I left this gathering in such a state of bliss myself that I wondered...why can't everyone experience this? And here we are today!
So providing omm in your home, whether individually or in a group setting, is the most personal & effective way I felt I could relay this...to me this is the epitome of helping each other. For not only are my clients being helped, but the surroundings benefit myself as well! You have the creature comforts surrounding you, possibly a group of your closest comrades, outstanding wellness services at your door at a minimal cost...I have the pleasure of taking care of you in those same surroundings, and learning as much from you all. It's a win-win all around!
